National Procrastination Week 2023 takes place from March 6 through March 12, according to nationaldaycalendar.com.

The goal of the week is to celebrate procrastination by leaving certain tasks on the back burner for a bit.

These tasks can then be replaced with things that you love to do like reading, cooking, exercising, ETC.

The goal of the week is to get rid of those things and enjoy life to help alleviate stress and get an emotional/mental break.

Procrastination doesn't necessarily mean someone is lazy. There are many reasons people procrastinate that have nothing to do with being lazy.

Here are the five most common reasons for procrastination:

  • Perfectionism
  • Dislike the task
  • Tired
  • Fear of failure
  • Not part of goals

Here are some ways to avoid procrastination:

  • Reward yourself for finishing the task
  • Stay away from things that can waste time like TV and social media
  • Set time aside for the specific task
  • Find out what is in it for you

How to observe National Procrastination Week:
