OMAHA, Neb. (KPTM) — April is Keep America Beautiful Month, according to nationaldaycalendar.com.
The month-long celebration is not just about picking up trash, but that is a portion of it.
It is also about reducing waste by recycling, teaching about the damages of litter, and beautifying neighborhoods.
How to observe this dazzling holiday:
Keep America Beautiful Month was created by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America along with Keep America Beautiful Inc. in 1971, according to nationaldaycalendar.com.
The month-long observation was expanded across the country by 1984. Communities all around the U.S. began hosting events to Keep America Beautiful.
