CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – During trying times like the COVID-19 pandemic, it's apparent that people will try anything to prevent and killing the virus.

The World Health Organization has a nifty little myth busters page that breaks down many rumors and wild attempts from people and the internet coming up with, creative at best, ideas to combat the coronavirus.

Some are actually good questions like "Are there any specific medicines to prevent or treat the disease?" and "Are antibiotics effective?" Both answers, unfortunately, are no.

But then there are the wild ones.

Can garlic prevent the coronavirus? Can spraying alcohol all over your body kill the coronavirus? Can hand dryers kill the coronavirus?

If I can hold my breath for 10 seconds without discomfort or coughing, does that mean I don't have coronavirus?

All of these, simply stated, is either no or the more safe answer that "there is no evidence", the WHO says.

The WHO also have a page with videos that show the best way to prevent spreading and getting COVID-19, which can be found at this link.
