Factory employees who worked nearly a month straight to help make protective gear for healthcare workers are finally going home.

Workers at Brasken America in Delaware County, Pa. left their factory for the first time in 28 days this week.

WVPI reports about 40 employees unanimously decided to live at their job full-time in order to work 12-hour shifts and help fight COVID-19. They left their families. They ate, slept and lived at the factory 24-7.

Workers produced polypropylene - which is used to make things like N95 masks, sanitary wipes and hospital gowns.

Upon leaving for the first time, a shift supervisor said there was a glow in everyone's eyes.

The world these workers are going back to looks a lot different than the one they left a month ago. But one thing is clear: the world is a better place with people like them in it.
