Donald Trump's wife and four of his children responded to the assassination attempt that's shocked the world.

Melania Trump, the former First Lady, provided her first response after her husband survived being shot, urging Americans to "reunite."

"I am thinking of you how my fellow Americans.
We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one .
When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life and Barron's life, were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband.
To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me.
A monster who recognized my husband as an inhumane political machine attempted to ring out Donald's passion - his laughter - ingenuity, love of music, an inspiration. The core facets of my husband's life - his human side - were buried below the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times.
Let us not forget that differing opinions, policy, and political games are inferior to love, Our personal, structural and life commitment - until death - is at serious risk. Political concepts are simple when compared to us, human beings.
We are all humans, and fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help one another. American politics are one vehicle that can uplift our communities. Love, compassion, kindness and empathy are necessities.
And let us remember that when the time comes to look beyond the left and the right, beyond the red and the blue, we all come from families with the passion to fight for a better life while we are here, in this earthly realm.
Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now.
This morning, ascend above the hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence. We all want a world where respect is paramount, family is first, and love transcends. We can realize this world again. Each of us must demand to get it back. We must insist that respect fills the cornerstone of our relationships, again.
I am thinking of you, my fellow Americans.
The winds of change have arrived. For those of you who cry and support, I thank you. I commend those of you who have reached out beyond the political divide - thank you for remembering that every single politician is a man or a woman with a loving family.

She is expected to attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee where her husband will formally accept the Republican nomination.

Trump children - Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany - posted their love for their father while thanking law enforcement risking their lives.

Donald Trump Jr. shared a photo of his father's blood-streaked face with his fist in the air ensuring Americans that he will forge on.

"He'll never stop fighting to Save America," posted Don. Jr. on X.

Trump's oldest daughter, who was part of his presidential administration, reflected on the anniversary of her mother's death on Sunday morning. Ivanka stated she believed her mother, Ivana Marie Trump, Trump's first wife, was watching over her father.

Two years ago today, my mom passed away. I believe she was watching over Dad last night during the attempt on his life. I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she left behind, posted Ivanka Trump.

Ivana Trump died at the age of 73 in her New York home in 2022.

Ivanka immediately thanked the law enforcement officers for their "quick and decisive actions" after the shooting.

Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today's senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country.
I love you Dad, today and always.

Eric Trump took to his X account several times on Saturday, describing his father as a "fighter" who will "never surrender."

Tiffany Trump also called her father a fighter telling Americans that he will "continue to fight for you and the USA."

The outpouring of love and support for my dad is deeply appreciated. Thank you God for keeping my father alive. Political violence is never the answer. God bless the secret service and law enforcement who fearlessly intervened. Please include the families of the victims in your prayers. As you saw today, my father is a fighter and he will continue to fight for you and the USA.

In a social media post, Trump said he was "shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear" during his political campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Officials said the man who opened fire in an assassination attempt was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania. A bullet from a sniper killed Crooks who was on top of a nearby building.

In the post on his social media network Sunday morning, the former president called for unity and thanked “everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.”

“We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness,” he said.

Trump also said, “Our love goes out to the other victims and their families” and he said he’s praying “for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed."

"In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win,” he adds.
