Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to lay out her campaign's closing arguments in front of thousands of supporters in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday -- exactly one week before Election Day.

She's returning to the exact site near the White House where Donald Trump allegedly incited a mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol in January 2021.

According to her campaign, Harris hopes to urge the nation to “turn the page” toward a new era and away from Trump.

The event is expected to bring over 20,000 participants, according to a permit obtained by WJLA.

The District has since put in place several security measures on and around the event space, leading up to Tuesday. Several D.C. streets will be shut down and parking restrictions will go into effect because of expected crowds.

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage, officials said in a news release.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation urged drivers in the area of the event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.

On Monday, workers were seen setting up fencing around the area.

Former President Donald Trump will speak at Mar-a-Lagoon Tuesday morning.
