The Republican presidential nomineecriticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and accused them of insulting his supporters.

Donald Trump shared his thoughts on Biden's controversial comment with rallygoers in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on Wednesday.

Joe Biden finally said what he and Kamala really think of our supporters, he called them garbage, and they mean it, even though, without question, my supporters are far higher quality than Crooked Joe Biden," said Trump. "My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple. You can't lead America if you don't love Americans, and you just can't be president if you hate the American people, and there's a lot of hatred.

Trump continued criticizing Harris saying, "She doesn't have the intellect or stamina that real leaders must have to lead."

While participating in a campaign call Tuesday night Biden said, "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters."

The president later explained he was talking about the comedian who spoke at Trump's Madison Square Garden event where he described Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage."

He was later asked by reporters to clarify his comment during an Oval Office meeting with the president of Cyprus. Biden didn't answer the questions about his comments.

Earlier in the day, Harris was asked about the comment at Joint Base Andrews before leaving toRaleigh, North Carolina.

"Listen, first of all, I think he clarified his comments, but let me be clear I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for," she answered.

She was then asked if she was concerned about voters being insulted.

She responded, "I'm sincere with what I mean, when elected president I will represent all Americans, including those who don't vote for me and address their needs and their desires.

Trump's rally in Rocky Mount ended with him slamming the Biden administration who he said treated the country like garbage.

You know that is his decision to portray everyone who isn't voting for them as evil or sub human. You are not sub human, and we know it's what they believe, because look how they've treated you. They've treated you like garbage. You know what the truth is? They've treated our whole country like garbage, whether they meant to or not, because they're grossly incompetent people, and they've destroyed our country, said Trump.

He then blamed Biden and Harris for inflation and crime while citing Border Patrol statistics.

"Thirteen-thousand and ninety-nine murders, many of them murdered more than one person. These are the numbers from Border Patrol during their term. Thirteen-thousand and ninety-nine murders were led into our country," said Trump.
