Hyundai has more in mind for its new Genesis premium brand than just sedans, according to a new model roadmap that recently hit the web.

In addition to the G70, G80, and G90 sedans already confirmed by Hyundai, Genesis showrooms will eventually include two SUVs or crossovers and a coupe. The information was confirmed in a lineup chart obtained by The Korean Car Blog.

That information isn't entirely unexpected, but it does confirm a multi-prong, comprehensive approach to taking on the likes of BMW over the next few years. Look for the SUVs, which will probably more along the lines of crossovers in actual execution, to target the BMW X3 and X1, among other luxury models.

The big question here remains the coupe, which the slide describes as a "near luxury" coupe. This probably means it will ride on a version of the architecture that underpins the current Hyundai Genesis, a model set to change names and become the G80 sedan. Just how much more upmarket the car will move once it loses its Hyundai badging remains up for debate, however.

For now, the flagship G90 squares off against industry heavyweights like the BMW 7-Series, while the as-of-yet not shown G80 and G70 will target mid-size and compact luxury sedans, respectively. The G70 will be launched by the close of next year.
