A couple weeks ago, General Motors revealed a new in-car system called Marketplace that allows you buy things like coffee while you're driving.

If you're like us, your initial thought is: Wow! That's a car crash waiting to happen.

So, when we had the opportunity to sit through a demonstration at the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback press preview, we jumped at the chance -- and got a free cup of coffee for our efforts.

As you will see in the video below, the system requires some back-end work on the user's part, such as setting up favorites in the app on your mobile phone -- while you're stationary. Then, when you're driving a long and and the 2 p.m. coffee craving kicks in, it's just tap, tap and go.

The system was designed to be used while driving and is less distracting that it would seem.
