Harrison Ford has some strong feelings about who should take up the role of cinema’s most famous Nazi-fighting archeologist when he finally hangs up the hat and whip.

“Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones, don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones,” Ford said on NBC's "Today." “When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”

Ford, 70, is set to return to theaters as Indiana Jones for the fifth time in 2021, 13 years after his last appearance in2008's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

“Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt has at times been discussed as a possible replacement for the aging actor to keep the lucrative franchise alive, a prospect Ford seemed particularly dismissive of.

“This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry, man,” he said, possibly confusing Pratt with the actor who played another former Ford character in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.”

Steven Spielberg will return to direct Ford as Jones in the as-yet-untitled fifth film, set for release on July 9, 2021.
