“Ghost Adventures” star Aaron Goodwin had the most chilling experience of his life on camera, and it wasn’t from a ghostly encounter.

Goodwin’s wife, Victoria Goodwin, had attempted an alleged murder-for-hire plot against him, ultimately being caught, convicted, and sentenced to 36 to 90 months in prison.

The paranormal investigator learned of his wife’s initial arrest while filming an episode at the Hollydale Mental Hospital in Downey, California, in March.

The show shared a clip, where Goodwin is working on setting up cameras for their investigation when he gets a notification on his phone. He tries to make a call and then looks at another text, telling fellow investigator Jay Wasley, “Bro, the police are at my house.”

Goodwin steps outside to call and figure out what’s happening, and then pauses and shows stock images of the hospital, as host Zak Bagans narrates they won’t be showing the remainder of the footage out of respect for Goodwin.

But it is the moment, “that Aarons receives a call from police that his wife has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder by hiring a hit man to have Aaron killed.”

Goodwin addressed the clip and incident in his own post on Instagram Wednesday, saying, “This next episode of #ghostadventures is when I got the FaceTime call from the cops. They were in my house & told me what she did & she was arrested. I won’t be watching this episode cause I don’t want to relive that night again & what happened before the call. This lockdown is insane & disturbing with what happened during our investigation.”

Victoria Goodwin was arrested on March 6 by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, and it was later discovered that she had reached out to Grant Amato, an inmate in Florida who had murdered his mother, father, and brother. The two began to exchange texts and eventually collaborated on the alleged scheme to kill Goodwin.

She testified in court to sending messages like "Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce."

Goodwin filed for divorce from Victoria the week after her crimes were revealed.
