Vince Gill to receive 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Country music legend Vince Gill is set to receive the 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.
Gill will be honored during the 59th annual CMA Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 19, with a special tribute performance.
"Vince embodies the very best of what country music stands for," said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer.
Gill, an Oklahoma native, has released 20 albums, sold more than 30 million records and charted 45 singles. Known for his heartfelt songwriting and masterful guitar playing, he has been a key member of bands like Pure Prairie League and The Time Jumpers.
Gill's career breakthrough came in 1990 with "When I Call Your Name," earning him CMA and GRAMMY awards. Over his career, Gill has received 22 GRAMMY Awards and 18 CMA Awards.
The CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award honors artists with significant contributions to country music. Previous recipients include Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and George Strait.
Lainey Wilson returns to host CMA Awards for the second year in a row. Wilson will also perform at the ceremony as part of the star-studded lineup with country music stars Luke Combs, Megan Moroney and more set to take the stage.
As for nominations this year, Ella Langley, Moroney and Wilson top the nominations with six nods each. Other top nominees include Zach Top with five nominations, Riley Green and Cody Johnson with four nominations and Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen with three nominations each.
