WASHINGTON (SBG) – Disgraced former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was protested after he made an appearance at a bar in Manhattan's Lower East Side Wednesday evening, according to BuzzFeed.

The evening of performances of "Actors Hour" at Downtime bar for young actors and comics took a turn when several people noticed Weinstein in the room.

A female comic, Kelly Bachman, in a video can be seen onstage, saying as a comic it is her responsibility to address the "elephant in the room" or the "Freddy Krueger" in the room. She continued saying, "I didn't know we had to bring our own mace and rape whistles to Actor's Hour."

A man can be heard off-camera shouting "shut up" at Bachman.

The comic told the room that she was a rape victim but not by anyone in the room Wednesday night, admitting she never was able to confront her attackers. "So, just a general f*** you," said Bachman.

Some booed her performance while others cheered at her remarks. Talking about her performance, Bachman said she felt it was "the right thing to do," by letting the moment be uncomfortable.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, she said: "I'm comfortable enough to talk about my experience, but when I'm sitting in the room with a monster that people are supporting, it just sucked the air out of my chest."

Several audience members asked for Weinstein to leave the venue. When he was not removed, two attendees protested his presence but were later asked to leave the event for "heckling". Bachman decided to depart the event with one of the women, according to CNN.

One of the women protesting Weinstein, Zoe Stuckless, became visibly upset at his presence and can be seen in a video shouting "Nobody's going to say anything?"

The bar posted a response to the events on their Facebook page saying that after "one guest began heckling another, causing a disturbance." they were asked to leave.

"Please know that our goal at Downtime is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome. We respect the privacy of our patrons and event partners, and want to ensure that all guests are treated equally, with the same service and respect," the bar said in a statement.

A spokesperson for Weinstein told CNN that "Harvey Weinstein was out with friends enjoying the music and trying to find some solace in his life that has been turned upside down. This scene was uncalled for, downright rude and an example of how due process today is being squashed by the public, trying to take it away in the courtroom too."

Weinstein's trial is set to being in January.
