Weekend Box Office June 28-30, 2019

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) As expected, “Toy Story 4” repeats as box office champion with a weekend total of $57.9 million. That’s about $6 million less than most were predicting, but only a 52% drop. The film’s domestic total is now $236 million and worldwide the total is a healthy $496.5 million.

Annabelle Comes Home” finds itself in second place with $20 million this weekend. The latest entry The Conjuring Universe earned $31 million since it was released on Wednesday.

Yesterday” opened to $17 million domestically and $7 million internationally for a weekend total of $24 million worldwide. I expect this film to hang around for quite some time. It’s a crowd pleaser.

Disney’s live action “Aladdin” added $9.3 million for a domestic total of $305 million. That’s an impressive total; it pales to the international total of $568 million. Worldwide “Aladdin” has earned $874.2 million.

The Secret Life of Pets 2” lands in fifth place with $7 million. The domestic total is now a modest $131 million. Worldwide the total is floating around $220 million. The film won’t reach $300 million, a massive disappointment for Universal who were hoping that the film would match the $875 million that the first film brought in.

Spider-Man: Far from Home” won’t open domestically until Tuesday; its early launch in in China, Japan and Hong Kong has already netted $111 million. Business as usual for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Elsewhere in the MCU, "Avengers: Endgame" brought in an additional $7.5 million worldwide. It's worldwide total is $2.76 billion. Still $26 million short of "Avatar."
