Woods, Brady, Manning, Mickelson to play golf for coronavirus fundraiser

WASHINGTON (SBG) — A major sporting event is being held next month to raise money towards coronavirus relief.

Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Phil Mickelson will face off in a televised two-on-two golf match. It is expected to be held next month and air live on TNT.

A location, specific date and charity to raise funds for has not been determined yet. Turner Sports says they are working with government and public health officials to figure out the safest way to make this event happen. Dates betweenMay 15-24 are being discussed, according to The Action Network.

None of the participating stars will make a dime from next month's fundraiser. All proceeds will go towards the to-be-determined charity(s) that provides COVID-19 relief.

Woods and Mickelson recently competed against each other in an 18-hole head-to-head matchup in November 2018. Brady and Manning have competed in various amateur tournaments in the past.

In February, Brady poked fun at Manning's golf game saying that the All-Pro quarterback has had "much more practice" golfing over the past few years.

Manning also auctioned a golf game and dinner with himself and friends to raise money for coronavirus relief last week.

All four figures have recently made headlines after Brady signed a deal to play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manning reportedly declined to call Monday Night Football games next season. Woods and Mickleson made special appearances on CBS to recount their Masters victories while quarantining at home.
