The X-Men arrive in the new 'Avengers: Doomsday' teaser

Another week, another teaser for “Avengers: Doomsday!”
This time the X-Men are being introduced into the action, with Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden reprising their roles from the hit franchise.
In the trailer, McKellen’s Magneto speaks over images of an X-Men mansion in disrepair, saying, “Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure.
We then get a glimpse of Stewart as Professor X, sitting across from Magneto, as his voiceover asks, “The question isn’t are you prepared to die? The question is: who would you be when you close your eyes?” The old frenemies hold hands across a chessboard and smile at one another.
After that brief touching moment, Marsden’s Cyclops can be seen, screaming on his knees and unleashing his signature red energy beams from his eyes.
“The X-Men will return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,” a title card reads.
According to Entertainment Weekly, other confirmed X-Men characters set to appear in the film include, Channing Tatum's Gambit, Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn's Mystique, and Kelsey Grammer's Hank McCoy/Beast.
As for the known plot details, the film is set be a massive mashup of characters, combining the “New Avengers” from this year’s film, plus a team brought together by Anthony Mackie’s Captain America (Sam Wilson), as well as a multiverse’s worth of characters, including the original film version of the X-Men and the current Fantastic Four lineup.
All those people will be facing off with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. His arrival was teased at the end of this summer’s “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” in a post-credits sequence, but his face was never shown.
The X-Men focused teaser comes on the heels of the first two, which featured Chris Evans’ return as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth return as Thor.
“Avengers: Doomsday” will be in theaters December 18, 2026.
