A new documentary has soared into IMAX theaters across the country, showing Americans the Blue Angels like never before.

Camera crews got unprecedented access to the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squad using IMAX-certified gear -- even sending up a helicopter in the middle of their stunts. The documentary follows the team and shows what it takes to be part of the elite squad. One of the current pilots -- Scribe -- hopes the stunning visuals will showcase the Navy and U.S. military as a whole.

"They're all out there right now, there are Navy Marine Corps units, aircraft carriers out there right now doing the job they've been asked to do by our country, by our leadership," Scribe said during remarks to reporters at a recent screening. "And they do it exceptionally well, which is why we never hear about it. I hope that's what they see: They see the Blue Angels and they recognize their entire military works at that level."

The documentary, produced by "Top Gun: Maverick" star Glen Powell and J.J. Abrams, is in IMAX theaters for one week and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime starting May 23.
