WASHINGTON (TND) — Taylor Swift announced Wednesday that the film of her record-breaking 'Eras Tour' would be finally available to stream on Disney+ starting March 15.
"I'm thrilled to let you know I've found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be Disney+," the 34-year-old pop culture juggernaut wrote on social media.
For the first time we'll be showing the entire concert (including "cardigan," plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I'm calling it, huge shock, 'Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version)'.
The movie, which was filmed over three nights of her August 2023 shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood California, premiered in theaters in October and quickly became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, raking in $261 million at the box office.
Those missing it in theaters -- the theatrical release cut out several songs and interludes to condense the 3.5 hour live experience into an under three-hour film -- could watch it on video on demand platforms starting in December (with four songs added), but some objected to the $19.89 price tag for the rental.
Swift is on a bit of a roll this week as, in addition to the streaming news, became the first artist in history to win the Grammys' top prize for "Album of the Year" four times as well as another for "Best Pop Vocal Album" for her album "Midnights." She also performed the first 2024 show of the Eras Tour, the top grossing concert tour of all time, Wednesday night at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
