WASHINGTON (SBG) — From sharks to tigers. Talks are in the works for actress Tara Reid to portray Carole Baskin in a movie adaptation of "Tiger King."

The "Sharknado" star has been speaking with producers, discussing the possibility of her playing Joe Exotic's arch-nemesis,People magazine reports. The real Carole Baskin runs Big Cat Rescue, a nonprofit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. She was featured in the 2020 Netflix series.

In the documentary, viewers see Baskin and Exotic frequently clashed over how to best treat big cats, like tigers and lions. Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in a 2017 murder-for-hire plot to kill the animal welfare activist, plus multiple wildlife law violations.

The seven-part Netflix documentary "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness" quickly shot to No. 1 as people streamed the show during the coronavirus pandemic.

The potential Tara Reid-version isn't the only adaptation in the works; there's an eight-episode scripted show starring Nicholas Cage as the Tiger King himself, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage.
