Sweet surprise: Dolly Parton to release baking kits inspired by family recipes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Country queen and entrepreneur Dolly Parton had one sweet surprise to share Wednesday morning!

The Tennessee treasure is releasing limited-edition baking collection kits to showcase some of her favorite southern flavors.

“I couldn’t wait to share this sweet surprise! Duncan Hines and I are whipping up some Southern love with my limited-edition Baking Collection kits with my favorite flavors, Coconut and Banana Puddin’. Can’t wait for y’all to try it,” Dolly tweeted.

The new line features cake mixes and frostings inspired by some of Dolly’s favorite family recipes.

"I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking," said Dolly Parton. "I am excited to launch my own line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, bringing that sweet, Southern-style baking experience I enjoy to others."

The $40 baking kits will include:

  • Dolly Parton's Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix
  • Dolly Parton's Southern Style Banana Flavored Cake Mix
  • Dolly Parton's Creamy Buttercream Frosting
  • Dolly Parton's Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
  • Collectible tea towel & spatula
  • Custom recipe cards

The lineup of cake mixes and frostings will hit store shelves in March.
