As friends, family, and fans are still reeling from the loss of Rob and Michele Reiner, the family has given an update on plans for a memorial service.

A statement from a spokesperson for the couple’s children, Jake and Romy Reiner, read, "Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received. They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date."

According to a report from People, there was an informal gathering of friends at the home of Albert Brooks last week.

The Reiners were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14. Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested in connection with their deaths later that day and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

A few days after their parents’ deaths, Jake and Romy issued a statement on their shock and grief.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” they shared in a statement to TMZ. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”

The statement continued, “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Their statement was released the same day as their brother made his first court appearance last Wednesday where his lawyer, Alan Jackson, declined to enter a plea for his client.

Nick's arraignment has now been scheduled for January 7, 2026.
