Reports: Demi Lovato 'stable' after drug overdose

WASHINGTON (Circa) -- Demi Lovato suffered a drug overdose and was rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ - who first reported that the overdose was caused by heroin.

Variety Magazine, NBC Newsand People Magazine are reporting she is "stable."

"Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," Lovato's representative said in a statement. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."

She was transported from her home in Hollywood Hills at 11:40 a.m. Pacific time, Page Six reports. Lovato was treated with Narcan - an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses, TMZ reports.

She reportedly was found unconscious by paramedics when they arrived. On Monday night, she went to a friend's birthday in West Hollywood and was posting pictures on her private Instagram page seemingly happy.

In the past, she has discussed her ongoing battle with substance abuse and was six years sober from cocaine, alcohol and Oxycotin. She recently released a song titled "Sober" and opened up about losing her sobriety and falling off the wagon.

In the song, Lovato apologizes to her parents and friends who have been with her throughout her journey for not being sober anymore.

Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor To the ones who never left me We've been down this road before I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore.

She performed the song for the first time in June and broke down in tears. Lovato was in Brazil for the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival. She posted a video of the performance on social media with the caption,“Tonight I took the stage, a new person with a new life. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. It will never be forgotten.”

Lovato was scheduled to perform in Atlantic City, N.J. on Thursday as part of her tour but that appearance has since been canceled. She was also going to be featured on Tuesday night's episode of "Beat Shazam" on Fox. Her last tweet was sent at 12:01 p.m. Eastern time promoting the appearance saying, "Oh hi ?? Guess who’s on @BeatShazamFOX tonight at 8/7c?"

On Sunday, Lovato performed at the California Mid-State Fair with Iggy Azalea. TMZ reports "she's been struggling."

Celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Paisley and Ariana Grande sent their well wishes to Lovato via social media.
