HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — Rapper Flavor Flav was arrested in Nevada on suspicion of domestic battery earlier this month, according to police and court records.

Flavor Flav, whose real name is William Drayton Jr., was taken into custody late Monday, Oct. 4, police in Henderson, Nevada confirmed in a statement.

Officers had responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and the 62-year-old artist was ultimately booked on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

No other details on the arrest were provided.

"In alleged domestic violence cases, there are often two sides to the story and we will explain our side in the courtroom, not in the media," Flavor Flav's attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said in a statement.

Court records indicate he posted bond and an arraignment hearing is scheduled for Oct. 25.

Flavor Flav was a member of the rap group Public Enemy and starred in multiple reality television series over the years.
