Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band broke ground in Baltimore Friday night, becoming the first music act to play in the newly renovated CFG Bank Arena.

The Boss and his merry band took the stage for nearly-180 minutes, just hours after the Oak View Group – the facility's manager – cut the ribbon on the 14,000-seat space.

Formerly known as the Royal Farms Arena and originally the Baltimore Civic Center, the venue was totally redesigned over the last year and previously hosted a college basketball tournament in February 2023.

"Renovations to the arena include the removal of the permanent stage, adding seats and suites, refurbishing concourses, upgrading concessions areas, and changing the building’s appearance," the Oak View Group said.

The E Street Band's tour kicked off Feb. 1 in Tampa, Florida, and is Springsteen first North American in seven years.
