NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Paris Jackson, who is set to perform at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena as part of the Morning View + The Hits tour, is pushing back against criticism over the date — June25 — coinciding with the 16th anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s death.
Jackson, 27, responded via Instagram Stories, dismissing the backlash as unfair and beyond her control. She pointed out that as an opening act, she “doesn’t pick what date you perform,” saying that such decisions fall to the headliner — in this case, Incubus and Manchester Orchestra.
She also emphasized the modest reality of touring as a supporting artist: she’ll be traveling in a “soccer-mom van,” with just an acoustic guitar and her fiancé/sound engineer, Justin Long — no tour bus or backstage luxuries.
Jackson, who initiated her spot on the tour, expressed both gratitude and frustration, saying she wouldn’t “make a big fuss” or cancel the date. Her final rebuke to critics: “F-you.”
