MONTREAT, N.C. (WLOS) — The original home of the late Rev. Billy Graham and his late wife Ruth has entered the market for $599,000. This is the first time the Montreat home has been offered for sale.
The cottage was the family’s residence during the time the evangelist became a household name.
According to the Grahams’ daughter, Ruth, her parents purchased the home in the late 1940s.
“It was selected because it was right across the street from my grandparents,” she said. “I was born during the time my family lived in the house. The Los Angeles Crusades and [my father’s] tour of England happened during those years. It is where it all began.”
The four-bedroom, two-bath cottage has been available as a vacation rental in recent years.
