Officials: Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur Davis, dead after possible cardiac arrest

SAUSALITO, Calif. (WBFF) - Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur Davis, died late Monday night in Marin County, officials confirmed. She was 69 years old.

According to the Marin County Sheriff, deputies responded to a report of a possible cardiac arrest at her Sausalito home around 9:34 p.m. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased around 10:28 p.m.

The Sheriff's Coroner's Office will lead an investigation to determine the exact cause and manner of her death.

According to TMZ, Afeni filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years in March and has been living on a houseboat.
