'No Values' music festival announces inaugural lineup featuring Misfits, Iggy Pop

LOS ANGELES (TND) — No Values, a new, one-day, music festival celebrating primarily 1980s punk rock, announced its inaugural line-up, featuring some of the biggest names in the genre, Tuesday.

Named after a Black Flag song -- the pioneering hardcore band called Los Angeles home -- and put on by Goldenvoice, the same promoter behind Coachella, No Values serves as an almost Gen X-equivalent to the popular "When We Were Young" festival that showcases millennial-favorites from 1990s and 2000s pop punk.

At the top of the billing for the one day event are the reunited original Misfits, featuring founder and vocalist Glenn Danzing, and hardcore punks-turned cowpunks (a subgenre pioneered by X and The Cramps featuring country and rockabilly influences) Social Distortion. Other artists at the top of the marquee cover three decades of the music: 90s ska punk and reggae rockers Sublime, 2010s hardcore punk flag-bearers Turnstile, and classic punk rockers Bad Religion, who have been around since 1980. Also at the top of the bill is the man widely considered to be one of the originators and "Godfather of punk rock," Iggy Pop.

The line-up continues with nearly 40 other acts that cover punk, alternative and indie rock history from its early days in the late 1970s, from The Damned and the Exploited, to 1980s pioneers like Black Flag and The Dead Milkmen to multi-genre artists like Suicidal Tendencies and TSOL all the way up to more contemporary alt rock artists like Joyce Manor and The Lawrence Arms.

The festival will be held at thePomona Fairplex on June 8, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and honor the music's history of inclusivity by being an all-ages show.

Tickets, except for VIP, are all general admission and go on sale Friday, Feb. 23 -- with children five and under getting in for free with accompaniment by ticketed adult -- at 11 a.m. PST.
