LOS ANGELES (TND) — Mötley Crüe bassist and co-founder Nikki Sixx said one of his two stalkerswill be spending nearly a year behind bars.
Sixx shared the update on social media early Sunday morning.
Stalker #1 was just sentenced to 300 days in jail," Sixx noted on X, which is the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. "It doesn't erase all the tears my sweet wife cried worrying about our daughter's safety though. This stalker began to go after my wife 8 years ago. It's been a long road that ends right now."
The National Desk responded to Sixx's post, asking if he and his wife, Courtney Sixx, are satisfied with the sentencing or if they think more time behind bars is necessary. He is yet to reply.
Several fans commented on the post, congratulating Sixx on a victory. Some added that they think 300 days is a light sentence.
"Bravo on your legal triumph. Though lamentably, the stalker received a mere 300 days in incarceration, it's a relief to witness justice prevailing. One hopes this outcome serves as a deterrent," one person wrote.
"So Glad to hear this, but to me, for someone who has put your family through so much for 8 years, 300 days doesn’t cut it. But I’m glad at least something is being done, and hope it takes away some worries for you all. I know what it’s like to worry everyday about feeling safe," another wrote.
Sixx has been chronicling the case on social media since mid-November. He previously noted he and Courtney, along with their 4-year-old daughter, Ruby, were targeted by two stalkers.
He said the Federal Bureau of Investigation was involved in at least one of the cases.
Sixx has said one of the stalkers has gone "so far as to travel to my house and threaten our lives."
He described one of the stalkers as "a deranged woman from Tennessee, who I have never met or seen before, targeted my wife and child with threats and deaths of bodily harm. This was not some internet troll but someone who was convinced that she was somehow connected to me."
He said the woman's harassment "went on for a long time and got progressively more scary, forcing me to go to court several times and obtain restraining orders."
Sixx went on to say the woman ended up violating the restraining orders multiple times and was eventually held in contempt of court and arrested.
It's one thing to threaten my safety but when it comes to serious threats against my wife and children it just becomes beyond alarming," he noted in the post. "Thank you to the FBI, law enforcement, the detectives and the legal and court system for treating these threats with the severity and urgency they require. I will go to any lengths to protect my family."
Sixx and Courtney have a home in Wyoming, where they live with Ruby. He also has four older children: Gunner, Storm, Decker, and Frankie.
Sixx celebrated his 65th birthday in December.
