New DVD, Blu-ray and digital release highlights for the week of December 7-13, 2020

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Sports, action, horror, western, art-house comedy. This week has a little bit of everything.

Digital

The Beach House -Life finds Emily and Randall, college sweethearts, heading in opposite directions. In hope of revitalizing the relationship, the pair escape to Randall’s family’s beach house only to discover that Mitch and Jane, friends of his parents, have already settled in. When night comes, a strange mist descends upon the seaside town. (Full Review)

Honest Thief -Tom (Liam Neeson), better known as the In-and-Out Bandit, has stolen $9 million from a variety of banks in numerous towns. When he meets Annie, he decides to come clean and turn himself in. A dirty FBI agent makes that process more difficult than expected. (Full Review)

Kajillionaire - The latest effort from indie director Miranda July. Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood) is a young woman with very little life experience. Sheltered by her parents (Debra Winger, Richard Jenkins), a pair of small-time criminals and scam artists, her perception of family relationships is more of a business agreement than it is about love. New to DVD and Blu-ray

• Yellowstone: Season 3 -The complete third season of the Kevin Costner starring television series from writer/director Taylor Sheridan is available on DVD or Blu-ray. A limited box set featuring all three seasons on DVD is also available.
• Collateral 4K-Michael Mann's 2004 film stars Tom Cruise as Vincent a well-dressed man who pays Max (Jamie Foxx), a taxi driver, a few hundred dollars to drive him to various locations over the course of one night. Turns out Vincent is a hit man with five targets that need to be eliminated before sunrise. "Collateral" is a dark film (both visually and in tone). This new 4K release smooths out some of the rougher aspects of the 2010 Blu-ray release. It simply looks better, more defined.
• 2020 World Series Champions: Los Angeles Dodgers -The full World Series will be released in 2021. In the meantime, enjoy the series highlights.
  
• Hawaii Five-O: The Complete Series - All ten seasons from the highly successful reboot that aired between 2010-2020.
• Possessor Uncut -One of the most distinctive films of 2020. Brandon Cronenberg's cinematic nightmare pulls influence from a variety of sources while presenting a world where a person can occupy and control the body of someone else through the use of new technology. It's dark, violent and excessive. It's also an incredible, unforgettable experience.
• The Sommerdahl Murders: Series 1 - This Danish crime series sees a trio of detectives solving murders while dealing with personal issues that would otherwise tear them apart.

• The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone - Much like he did with 'Apocalypse Now Redux," Francis Ford Coppola has gone back to the raw footage of "The Godfather III" to create a new, tighter version of the film.
• Mouchette - Robert Bresson's unforgettable, tragic 1967 drama comes to Blu-ray. Mouchette, a teenage girl, suffers at the hand of her alcoholic father and the indifference of the world around her.
• Total Recall 4K - Director Paul Verhoeven teamed with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger for this lose adaptation of Philip K. Dick's story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale". Pushing the limits of filmmaking technology, "Total Recall" embraced the violent mania of Verhoeven's "Robocop" and paired it with Schwarzenegger's box-office swagger.
• Cinema Paradiso 4K-Giuseppe Tornatore’s love letter to the cinema of his youth is one of the most evocative film's I've ever seen. The narrative follows a successful movie director who returns to his hometown to attend the funeral of the cinema projectionist.
  
• Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Two Takes by William Greaves -William Greaves directs a pair of films that blur the line between documentary and narrative captures the spirt of the 1960s and then deconstructs it decades later by reuniting actorsAudrey Henningham and Shannon Baker.
  
• Survivor Ballads: Three Films by Shohei Imamura - At the end of his extensive career Shohei Imamura crafted "The Ballad of Narayama," a Japanese folklore inspired film, "Zegen ," a satirical look at Japanese prewar colonial expansion, and "Black Rain," the story of a family of atomic bomb survivors looking for a suitable husband for their niece. "The Ballad of Narayama" won the Palme d'Or, the highest prize, at 1983's Cannes Film Festival.
  
• Versus - Caught somewhere between a gangster drama, a zombie horror and a samurai action film, "Versus" is an insanely entertaining slice of Asian cinema. Arrow's release features the original 2000 film as well as its extended version from 2004.
  
• Raining in the Mountain - Set during the Ming Dynasty, this Japanese film sees a corrupt general attempt to steal a sacred scroll hidden away and protected in a monastery that sits at the top of a mountain.
• Buster Keaton Collection Volume 4: "Go West"and "College" - "Go West" sees a young man travel across America by train believing that the grass is greener on the other side of the continent. "Collage" finds the actor starring as a small-town bookworm who tries to impress a young woman with his (pitiful) athleticism.
