SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Unlike last week, there's not much to look at on the digital front. So, we'll just dive into the physical releases (which are pretty spectacular).

  • Dune - When the House Atreides is given control of the desert planet Arrakis the former stewards, the House Harkonnen, plot an ambitious plan to regain control of the planet’s lucrative “spice” industry.Denis Villeneuve's adaptation ofFrank Herbert's novel is gorgeous. The pacing is a little off, but it is still a triumph of cinema. It's also only half of the story. Fortunately, we know that the second half of the story will come in 2023. [Full Review]

  • Halloween Kills - Having trapped Michael Myers in a burning home, Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) believe their nightmare to be over. Myers survives and leaves a wake of carnage along his path in this bloody sequel to 2018's "Halloween." [Full Review]

  • Mass - Ann Dowd, Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton and Reed Birney star in this character study that finds two couples meeting to discuss a violent tragedy that took place between their children. Gripping and complex, "Mass" is an acting tour de force that lingers with you long after the credits roll.

  • Spencer - Kristen Stewart stars as Princess Diana in this fictional exploration of the weekend when she decided to leave her marriage to Prince Charles.

  • Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy - Ryusuke Hamaguchi writes and directs this anthology that explores a trilogy of stories that explore fate and chance. The film won theSilver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.

  • Ema - Ema (Mariana Di Girolamo) and Gastón (Gael García Bernal) see their relationship disintegrate in when they decide they are no longer able to raise their adopted son. FromPablo Larraín who also directed "Spencer."

  • Juice 4K UHD - Released in 1992, "Juice" tells the story of four teenagers growing up in Harlem. It was the acting debut of Tupac Shakur. It was also the feature film debut from Ernest Dickerson who frequently worked with Spike Lee. To celebrate the film's 30th anniversary, Paramount has released a solid 4K UHD upgrade to the previously available Blu-ray version.

  • The Celebration -Thomas Vinterberg’s 1998 film is a uncomfortable tale that sways between dark comedy and grim drama as a family gathers to celebrate the 60th birthday of their patriarch. Horrific revelations, accusations, and a general sense of ill will dominate the narrative. The film is part of the Dogme 95 movement that demanded that films be shot with handheld cameras in natural lighting and not include a score. The vicious nature of the story, while not required, is also a hallmark of the movement.
