WASHINGTON (Circa) -- If you binge-watch a show on Netflix, you could soon see advertisements promoting other shows on the service.

Ars Technica reports Netflix is testing out the feature to see whether it helps users gravitate to other shows.

"We are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster," a spokesperson for Netflix told the publication. "A couple of years ago, we introduced video previews to the TV experience, because we saw that it significantly cut the time members spend browsing and helped them find something they would enjoy watching even faster."

It is unknown whether these video ads will be seen across all platforms such as smart TVs, mobile phones, laptops and game consoles or if this is tailored specifically for one type of platform. It is also unknown if Netflix is doing this test for a particular part of the world or if this is happening worldwide.

Netflix says this test will only appear for a "segment" of viewers.
