Morgan Wallen was arrested Sunday and charged after police say he threw a chair from the top of Chief’s Bar.

Metro Police officers were standing in front of Chief's on Broadway, country singer Eric Church's venue, when they saw a chair drop from above and hit the ground on Broadway around 11 p.m. on Sunday, an arrest warrant says.

Officers say the chair landed about three feet from where they were standing.

Police talked to security regarding the incident and were told Wallen was responsible for the chair being thrown.

Police reviewed security footage of the rooftop of the bar and saw Wallen lunge forward while throwing an object from the sixth story rooftop. The object can be seen flying from the top of the building, arrest records show. Witnesses told officers they were standing to the right of Wallen when they saw him pick up the chair before throwing it, then laughing.

Wallen was booked on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, Metro Police report. The chair landed on Broadway, close to two Metro Police officers.

Broadway Musician Michael Burgess tells FOX 17 News he sees crazy incidents happen on Broadway everyday, but he says this is a bad look for the country star.

I think it’s pretty typical of Nashville Broadway. As an artist, I think it’s kind of insane to do what he did especially when he’s already been arrested once," said Burgess.

FOX 17 News report Kaitlin Miller spoke with emergency room doctor, Alex Hampton about the damage the chair could have caused if it had hit a person.

"I mean if we're talking just head injury, you've got to look at issues with your skull or brain. You also have to deal with spinal issues when you're dealing with a head injury as well," said Dr. Hampton. "There's also a situation where you can have issues with lungs, ribs, many other injuries could be in play."

FOX 17 News reached out to Wallen’s team for comment regarding the arrest. Wallen’s attorney shared the following statement:

“At 10:53p Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”

Chief's on Broadway had its grand opening on Friday, April 5.

Wallen's bond was $15,250. He bonded out on Monday morning. His court date is set for May 3, which is during his tour stop in Nashville. At this time, it is still scheduled to take place.
