Pop icon Madonna postponed her forthcoming Celebration tour Wednesday following an acute medical problem developed over the weekend.

Her manager, Guy Oseary, posted the news on his Instagram account, saying she entered intensive care at a hospital Saturday with a "serious bacterial infection."

On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU,” he wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour," he added.

“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

The tour, which was due to kick off in Vancouver, Canada, July 15, was slated to be Madonna's first full-career retrospective show, seeing the singer pull from her decades-long catalog.

The 43-city world tour promised to highlight "her unmatched catalog of music from the past 40-plus years," as well as "pay respect to the city of New York, where her career in music began,” according to the announcement video.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” the 63-year-old added.

Several tabloid publications claim the singer was "intubated" and "rushed to the hospital" after being found unresponsive Friday but The National Desk cannot confirm the validity of those reports.
