Liam Hemsworth leads the battle for the continent in 'The Witcher' season 4 trailer
Liam Hemsworth is officially in charge as Geralt of Rivia in the season 4 trailer of “The Witcher.”
The “Hunger Games” star is taking over the role from Henry Cavill, who left the Netflix series after the third season.
The trailer makes some allusions to Geralt transforming in multiple ways, kind of a clever nod to the fact a new actor has stepped into the silver wig. “The Witcher is in a state of fluxYou are becoming something new,” warns Laurence Fishburne’s character Regis, another new addition to the season.
“I was such a big fan of this character, so it was a bit of those pinch-yourself moments of walking around in this costume,” Liam told Tudum of taking over the role.
Our heroes are all scattered across the continent, searching for one another. Ciri, played by Freya Allan, is traveling with a group known as “The Rats” after the events of the third season finale, discovering a more violent side to herself.
Meanwhile, Yennefer is taking on a new leadership role in the magical world, promising to raise “an army of our own” to defeat Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu).
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt told Tudum, “We send them each on their own journey — a very different journey than anything they’ve done before, which is where we start in Season 4.”
Season 4 of “The Witcher” premieres on Netflix on October 30.
