I have to admit that my first response to the titles leaving Netflix in February was a big shrug. I probably should watch "Don't Know Twice" simply because it starsKatee Sackhoff and Lucy Boynton.
"Easy A"(2010)
Olive (Emma Stone) is a non-descript high school student who finds her life mirroring that of character Hester Prynne's in the novel "The Scarlet Letter." It would seem that being notorious isn't exactly the worst thing a girl can be. "Easy A" is a sharp comedy featuring a fantastic performance from Stone. I wish the adults characters were a little more credible, but the rest is top shelf writing.
"The Gift" (2015)
Married couple Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) move from Chicago to Los Angeles where Simon grew up. A chance meeting with Gordo (Joel Edgerton), a high school classmate of Simon’s, leads to an awkward attempt at friendship; a friendship that Simon isn’t interested in accepting. Edgerton wrote, directed and stars in this fantastic thriller.
"Haywire"(2011)
Steven Soderbergh's "Haywire" features a cast that includesGina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender,Channing Tatum,Michael Douglas andAntonio Banderas. The plot is the familiar story of a double-crossed special agent who has to go rogue to clear her name and protect her family. Still, there's something about Soderbergh's direction and the pure physicality of the stunts that makes it more than just another Saturday matinee.
