Las Vegas Super Bowl host committee launches volunteer program

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee hosted a kick-off event Friday for the launch of its official volunteer program.

The program, called Team LV, will seek to recruit more than 7,000 people to serve as ambassadors for Las Vegas leading up to and during the week of the big game, which is scheduled for Feb. 11 next year.

Host committee organizers and partners say volunteers will play an important role in supporting the Super Bowl experience for visitors.

Volunteer roles include welcoming people at Harry Reid International Airport and guiding fans along the Las Vegas Strip, providing event information and recommendations, and managing volunteer headquarters.

Caesars Entertainment and Intermountain Health are helping to power Team LV.

Registration is now open online. You must be at least 18 years old to apply and complete a formal application process, including a background check. Once accepted, volunteers will get role-specific training.

Volunteers will not receive tickets to the Super Bowl, according to the host committee, and positions will not be needed at Allegiant Stadium on game day.

The "Vegas Super Ball" also made an appearance at the event. The ball is 13 feet long, 9 feet tall and 8 feet in diameter, and it's expected to make several appearances at events across Southern Nevada this year.
