If you ask the cast of “Landman,” Billy Bob Thornton is the life of the party and the set.

“Yes, I mean he’s not a troublemaker! He’s just fun,” Ali Larter, who plays Angela, Billy Bob’s character’s ex-wife. “He’s got extraordinary stories, he’s got a photographic memory, so he has stories about Lauren Bacall that just blow your mind.”

Andy Garcia, who joined the cast full time for season two, told us, “You know, it’s so easy to work with him, we’re old buddies, it’s just like two old guys talking to each other with different agendas, but we hold hands together and explore the characters in unison kind of thing.”

Garcia added that they actually met through another iconic actor: Robert Duvall!

“We met at a party with Mr. Robert Duvall, or Bobby D we call him,” Garcia shared, adding that Duvall is a fan of Cuban music and invited him and another friend and “Billy Bob would come with him and that’s how we met.”

Kayla Wallace revealed that Billy Bob loves to make the cast laugh though.

“He’s hilarious. He’ll make you break during a take, he’ll add something at the end of a scene that makes you genuinely laugh, that happened multiple times this season, he’s hilarious,” she said.

When asked about being a “troublemaker” on set, Billy Bob had to laugh and ask, “Who told you that?!”

“I don’t know if I’m the troublemaker, but I’m definitely the one who says we’re here doing something we love, so let’s have fun doing it,” he continued.

Season two of the hit Paramount+ series is definitely going to stir up some trouble for the characters, including clashes between Tommy and Cami Miller, played by Demi Moore, who is co-running M*Tex after the death of her husband, Monty Miller (played by Jon Hamm).

“I know that she’s the boss and she’s the widow of my old friend, and I know she’s in charge now, but I also know that I’m the one who knows how to do it,” Billy Bob said. “I’ve got to kind of teach her because I don’t want to see the company fold.”

Sam Elliot is also joining the cast this season as Tommy’s father, T.L.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve known Billy for a long, long time, loved him from afar, now I get to love him up close,” Sam said. “Now we’re getting a chance to really get into it.”

"Landman" season two premieres on Paramount+ November 16.
