Singer and El Pasoan Khalid has won Top New Artist in the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

In a tweet from the Billboard Music Awards' verified account, Khalid gives a shoutout to El Paso and thanks the community for all its support.

After winning the trophy, he took to the stage to sing “Love Lies” with pop star Normani.

Khalid’s hit songs “Location “and “Young Dumb and Broke” have made his name known in the music world.
