It’s a nice, quiet neighborhoodor is it?

That’s the question facing Keke Palmer in the first teaser for the new Peacock series “The Burbs.”

Inspired by the 1989 movie of the same name starring Tom Hanks, the official show description reads, “set in present-day suburbia, ‘The ‘Burbs’ follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.”

Also starring in the series are Jack Whitehall as Palmer’s husband, plus neighbors played by Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, Kapil Talwalkar.

The original Tom Hanks film was a dark comedy that also starred Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, and Corey Feldman, and featured neighbors suspecting one house being home to ritualistic murderers.

The trailer teases the same vibe, with a paranoia, nosy neighbors snooping around, and a twisted sense of humor.

“The ‘Burbs” premieres on February 8 on Peacock.
