WASHINGTON (WZTV) -- Actor and WWE legend John Cena is making a huge contribution to helping first responders battling wildfires in California.
Cena tweeted that, on behalf of Paramount Pictures, he plans to donate $500,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the California Fire Foundation.
"Two incredible choices. @LAFDFoundation and @CAFireFound," Cena tweeted. "On behalf of Paramount and the cast of #PlayingWithFireMovie, a total of $500K is coming your way. Thank you for what you do. Help is on the way!!!"
On Monday, the 15-time world champion shared a video on Twitter saying he would donate $500,000 to any first responder charity of Paramount's choosing.
Cena is playing a firefighter in his upcoming film, "Playing With Fire," which will be released on November 8, 2019 by Paramount Pictures.
Cena recently donated up to $1 million to FitOps Foundation, a nonprofit organization that holds month-long "live on" camps to train and certify veterans to become elite personal trainers.
He also holds the title for the Make-A-Wish Foundation's most wishes granted by a single individual with more than 600.
