Wrestling legend Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart dead at 63

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (KGBT) - Wrestling star Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart has died, World Wrestling Entertainment reported Monday.

According to TMZ Sports, the 63-year-old suffered a fall at his Florida home. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office told TMZ, "preliminary information indicates that [Neidhart] fell at home, hit his head and succumbed to his injury."

WWE Universe fans know Neidhart became a major star alongside his brother-in-law, Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

A post on the WWE website highlights Neidhart's achievements. It reads, in part:

"Neidhart began his ring career after playing professional football with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. He was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Stu Hart in the infamous Hart Dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and earned his ring nickname, The Anvil, after winning an anvil throwing contest.

"Neidhart married Stu's daughter, Ellie, to become a member of the legendary Hart Family before making the move to WWE along with Bret "Hit Man" Hart, Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith when WWE purchased Stu Hart’s Calgary Stampede Wrestling.

"Initially, Neidhart and Hart were managed by Jimmy Hart as The Hart Foundation and went on to win two WWE World Tag Team Championships."

According to WWE, Neidhart last competed in the WWE in 1997. He was often seen on the show "Total Divas."

Neidhart’s daughter, Natalya, is a WWE women’s superstar and has been performing for more than 10 years.
