WASHINGTON (WJLA) — In between two sold-out shows at The Anthem, critically-acclaimed guitarist Jack White gave an impromptu concert for students outside Woodrow Wilson High School in the District on Wednesday.
White, a 12-time Grammy winner, performs as a solo artist and with several groups, including The White Stripes, a duo with Meg White. He has also performed with such diverse musicians as Loretta Lynn and Bob Dylan.
Rolling Stone ranked White as No. 70 on its list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”All three of his solo albums reached number one on the Billboard charts.
White serves as a board member of the Library of Congress' National Recording Preservation Foundation.
