CINCINNATI (WKRC) - "Good grief!" It may be frustrating that "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" isn't airing on network television again this year, but there's still a way to watch the Halloween classic for free and carry on your holiday tradition.

Fans of the series will be able to watch the special on Apple TV+for a limited time. The subscription service acquired the rights in 2020.

While subscribers can watch at any time, the service is offering a seven-day free trial for new and eligible subscribers.

In 2020 and 2021, PBS was able to air some of the specials, but has not been given rights since then.

The show was first released in 1966, with Charlie Brown getting ready for a party, Linus waiting in a patch for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin, Snoopy setting his sights on the Red Baron and the "Peanuts" gang going out trick-or-treating.

Apple TV+ will provide special free windows for non-subscribers to watch other holiday specials on the following dates:

  • "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" - Nov. 23-24
  • "A Charlie Brown Christmas" - Dec. 14-15
