Iconic 'Jersey Shore' slang you forgot existed

Let’s take it all the way back to 2009 when we met Snooki, Jenni “JWoww”, Deena, Angelina, DJ Pauly D, Mike “The Situation”, Vinny and Ronnie for the first time. They introduced a whole new language with words and phrases that would end up being part of everyone’s vernacular for the next 15 years to come
As we prepare for the return of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation”, lets revisit some of the most iconic phrases that the Shore gang has taught us.
Poof
Besides all the craziness that we witnessed when “Jersey Shore” first premiered, the one thing that everyone was talking about was the “poof.” The poof was Snooki’s signature go-to hairstyle, and it was the talk of the town! It required a ton of hairspray to keep her hair looking like a “bump” on top of her head.
Meatball
It refers to typically women who are short, fall a lot and love to party. Coined in season 3, when Snooki brought Deena to the house for the first time to meet her roommates. This is when they all describe the two short queens (Snooki stands at 4’8” and Deena at 5’0”) as the beloved pasta component. They are also known to be carefree, dramatic and loud, which Shore fans know is exactly Snooki and Deena aka “The Meatballs”!
T-Shirt Time
No one wants to leave the house with a messy, wrinkled-up shirt, so you might as well wear a shirt before the shirt. Mike, Pauly, Vinny and Ronnie would collectively shout throughout the house, “It’s T-Shirt Time!”. Which would send all the guys to their rooms to change into their fresh shirt before their night out.
“GTL”
“Gym. Tan. Laundry.” A daily ritual for the Shore stars which turned into a world-wide phenomenon. Every morning most of the cast would participate, they would wake up and go directly to the gym, then go get their tan on and lastly, they get their laundry from the laundromat and have their clothes looking new so they can feel fresh for a night on the town!
Cabs are Here!
Everyone hates that moment when you are trying round the troops for your Uber or Lyft to get to your party or event As we saw every week in “Jersey Shore,” all you must do is listen for Pauly D’s voice! The DJ would yell this infamous catch phrase when the cabs were quite literally here, meaning they were outside to pick up you and your friends.
MVP
The “Jersey Shore” stars gave this coveted label a whole new meaning! Mike, Vinny and Pauly formed a close bond, therefore they referred to themselves as MVP. Which is the first letter of each of their names.
Jerzday
When “Jersey Shore” first premiered it would air on Thursdays and as a way of saying “Jersey Shore Day” and “Thursday”, “Jerzday” was born! “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” followed suit with the Thursday cadence and it even became regular slang for the roommates.
We can use it in a sentence “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” returns for season 8 on Jerzday, May 29th at 8pm on MTV!
