Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at 71 years old.

In a statement to The National Desk, Clearwater Fire and Police Departments stated they responded to a medial call at 9:51 am for a "cardiac arrest."

"A 71-year-old resident, Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased," it continued.

During a press conference addressing Hogan's death, police confirmed they are conducting a death investigation, but "there are no signs of foul play or suspicious activity."

Just a few weeks prior, Hogan’s wife denied rumors he was in a coma saying his heart was “strong” as he was recovering from surgeries.

Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was perhaps the biggest star in WWE history, facing off throughout his long career with other superstars like Andre The Giant, Randy Savage, The Rock, and even the company's chairman, Vince McMahon. He won six championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

The WWE shared a post on X honoring the star, writing, "WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans."

Hogan's theatrics and charisma led to an acting career with films like "Suburban Commando" and "Mr. Nanny." He also often appeared as himself in cameos in TV shows and movies, and later became a reality star with his wife and kids on "Hogan Knows Best."

At the height of his fame, he was the most requested celebrity for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hogan is survived by his wife, Sky, who he married in 2023, his children, and Nick and Brooke from his first marriage to Linda Claridge.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
