Here's what's coming to Netflix in August 2022

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — August is nearly upon us and while there aren't any new Stranger Things episodes to settle down with, there are still a few other viable options to beat the heat and watch a title or two.

Here's Netflix's sizzle reel:

And here are the six titles that I'm excited about. It even includes a long-awaited Neil Gaiman adaptation, a bonkers South Korean action film, the final eight episodes of Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke, a Thai horror anthology, one of the only reality series that I can be bothered with watching, and a children's film that sounds amazing. Off we go...

The Sandman

A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he's made during his vast existence. Carter

Two months into a deadly pandemic originating from the DMZ that has devastated the US and North Korea, "Carter" awakens, with no recollections of his past. In his head is a mysterious device, and in his mouth, a lethal bomb. A strange voice in his ears gives him orders. The bomb may go off at any time — unless he rescues the girl who is the sole antidote to the virus. But the CIA and a North Korean coup are hot on his heels.(Avail 8/5/22)

Locke & Key: Season 3

The Locke family uncovers more magic within Keyhouse, while a new threat -- the most dangerous one yet -- looms in Matheson with plans of his own for the keys. From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), Locke & Key is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family. Locke and Key on Netflix is the television adaptation of the best-selling comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez for IDW Entertainment. (Avail. 8/10/22)

School Tales The Series

Unspeakable horrors roam the halls of high school in this anthology featuring ghost stories directed by seasoned Thai horror directors. (Avail. 8/10/22)

Glow Up: Season 4

Ten new contestants test the limits of their creativity as they tackle a variety of challenges in hopes of becoming the next big name in makeup. (Avail. 8/18/22)

Lost Ollie

Lost Ollie is an epic adventure about a lost toy who braves the many dangers of childhood as he searches the countryside to reunite with the boy who lost him; and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend.
