Here's what's coming to Netflix in August 2021

August. Netflix. Here we go.

Let's start off with Netflix's 8-minute sizzle reel. Or, you can simply skip ahead. The choice is up to you.

While many will be clamoring for "The Kissing Booth 3" and binging "Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified" and "30 Rock: Seasons 1-7," I've set my sights elsewhere .

Pray Away

It's the year 2021 and it is only now that we've begun to address the issue of "gay conversion therapy." This documentary will take us back to the 1970s and trace its way back to the present to explore the trauma of those who believed and those who lost themselves because of someone else's belief. (Avail. 8/1/21)

Misha and the Wolves

I wanted to see this during this year's Sundance Film Festival (which I attended in pajamas from my bedroom), but time was against us and there are only so many films a person can watch before they stop really seeing what plays out before them. Thus documentary is about Misha who escaped the Holocaust and was raised by wolves. Is her story true? Or simply a folklore? (Avail. 8/11/21)

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

I had mixed feelings about Netflix's live-action adaptation of "The Witcher" (I suspect the second season will be more coherent). There's no guarantee that this animated take onAndrzej Sapkowski's universe will be better. It will be interesting, of that I'm sure. (Avail. 8/23/21)

Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed

Betray and greed? In a Bob Ross documentary? Did Zach Snyder rewrite his history or is there truly darkness in the countryside? Time will tell. (Avail. 8/25/21)
