WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - If you're a "Game of Thrones" fan, chances are you've watched characters you love -- or love to hate -- meet a violent end. In the upcoming eighth and final season, more deaths are coming, an HBO executive warned.

At the 2018 INTV Conference in Israel Tuesday, HBO Senior Vice President of Drama Francesca Orsi recalled the harrowing moment cast members discovered their fates during a table read of the show's final episodes.

"None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started to fall down to their deaths," she said, according toThe Hollywood Reporter. "By the end, the last few words on the final script, the tears just started falling down. Then there was applause that lasted 15 minutes."

Orsi added that HBO is developing "three, four, five spinoffs" of the popular TV series, based on the fantasy novels of George R.R. Martin.

"It feels like corporate malfeasance to not continue it," she said.
