Netflix’s hit series “Ginny & Georgia” third season picked up after one shocker and ended with another.
*SPOILERS AHEAD FOR SEASON THREE!*
The third season followed Georgia’s trial for the murder of Cynthia’s husband, Tom, and it’s looking grim until the ninth episode.
But in the finale, Ginny convinces her half-brother, Austin, to testify that he saw his father, Gil, commit the crime, allowing Georgia to go free.
That decision weighs heavily on young Austin because, although Gil was abusive, he is innocent of the crime.
“No one in the Miller family will be the same after this season. We talk about Georgia changing, but Ginny has changed, Austin has changed, and there's no going back,” showrunner Sarah Glinski told Entertainment Weekly.
Georgia is far from out of the woods, even though she’s out of prison. Her husband, Mayor Randolph, has filed for divorce after Georgia lied about a pregnancy to manipulate him into showing up to court.
She’s also apparently been found by her mother and stepfather, at least implied by a call from her own imprisoned father. “If I can find you, anyone can. Your mom, your stepdad. Mary, you have to be careful,” he tells her, using a name she abandoned a long time ago.
The next morning, Georgia sees two people drive by her house in a truck, hinting that she’s been found by family she definitely does not want to see.
All that culminates in the biggest reveal of the finale: Georgia is pregnant.
Glinski and her fellow showrunner Sarah Lampert told EW they definitely know who the father is.
They, of course, didn’t reveal who it is, but Lampert said, “There was a debate over how the storylines could go based on whose baby it was and all that. But no, we've landed on whose baby it is. I'll say that.”
Season four promises more twists and turns for Georgia, Ginny, Austin, and their circle in and outside of Wellsbury.
“Ginny & Georgia” is streaming now on Netflix.
